Glass Cloche Dome Cover Cheese Dish Wooden Base

Hello, Hello, Hello everyone! How has your thrift shopping been lately? Mine has not been too eventful. What I have worked on was pieces I had found over time, and I have been upcycling them in one way, or another.

Above you will see pictures of glass cloche dome covers with wooden bases that I have done over time. Most of them I kept it simple with painting the wooden bases. I primed them, and then painted one blue, one was pink, and another was white. On the white one I added a little bit more by using mod podge, and cutting a music sheet to fit. With the music sheet I coffee/tea stained it a little bit, and then burnt the edges before applying it to the base.

At the very top you will see a black pedestal stand with the glass cloche dome I had done. This one was fun. A bit challenging, but still fun. I used the wooden base that is found with most of the domed cheese boards. I then attached it to a wooden candle holder. After the glue dried I applied a grey primer, and then painted it all black. Once that had dried I applied to this one also a fitted sheet music cut for it, stained, and mod podged. I took some scrap cut paper of the music sheet and applied it around the middle of the pedestal stand. Around the neck/top part of the stand I applied a white satiny ribbon that matched with the paper giving just a bit more character with this piece.

I have the pink one, and the white one listed with my shop LilacsNDreams at Etsy which you can use this Etsy link to get there. I have recently been made aware of my Etsy link on the sidebar not working. The other links work fine except for Etsy. Not sure what the technical issue is with it, but wanted to make you aware of this. As for the top black one, and the blue one I am in the process of listing with them at Etsy. Pictures have been taken, revised, and they are almost there.

So, it may seem that sometimes while thrifting we get some of the craziest things, or we accumulate things with no definite goals in mind. Above is some of how it can all come together too.

Thanks for sharing your time with Thrifty Shop Girl, and hope to see you all again soon. Take care, and Happy Thrifting!

Thrift Finds Repurposed Upcycled

Thrift Finds Repurposed Upcycled

I just love thrifting, junking, and vintage items too!  The first picture above shows a few things that I had found a while ago while thrifting. A couple of the pieces in the picture were used to make the cupcake stands that you see below my thrift finds.

There are many names used in reference to such pieces. Cupcake stand, amber pedestal stand, vintage inspired, candle holder, soap dish, jewelry dish, bathroom organizer, wedding decor, home decor, and the list goes on. I enjoy creating some of these pieces as they can be versatile, but also have different uses for them. One thing I like is the idea of flipping these over using the plate as the stand, and then using the adorable glass candy dishes as a candy dish, candle holder, trinket dish, jewelry holder, maybe some floating candles, and just so many possibilities!

The 2 handmade items viewed above are listed with my LilacsNDreams ecrater shop. I would love for you to visit, see all the pictures, and the details of things. Make sure to contact Me with any specific questions that you might have.

Thanks so much for sharing your time with Thrifty Shop Girl, and hope to see you again soon. Till then my friends "Happy Thrifting"

Thrift Store Yard Sale Finds Repurposed and Upcycled

I love junking, vintage, and repurposing! I love finding things that can be reused with just a little bit of cleaning, and sometimes maybe a little touch up too. I also enjoy creating pieces in a new way to enjoy them with our homes. As you will see above the first picture is from what I shared with you all on Monday, June 10, 2013. I love glassware, and I enjoy things that are wooden too. You know a little bit of glue, a little bit of paint, this goes with that, and you have something new again.

From what was shared you can see that I used a couple of the pieces to repurpose, or upcycle them. I attached the blue, and white small plates to some gorgeous cobalt blue glass candle holders making these pedestal stands you are viewing. The possibilities for these kind of pieces are endless. Use them as cupcake stands, candle holders, soap dishes in the bathroom, jewelry dishes on your dressers, they are gorgeous with wedding decor, and the possibilities are endless.

If you would like to see all the pictures, and descriptions for these items visit my shop at Ecrater. Any questions make sure to contact Me as I would be happy to assist you.

Thanks so much for visiting with Thrifty Shop Girl, and hope to see you all back again soon. Take care, and have fun thrifting and junking too!

Thrift Store Finds Are Repurposed Upcycled

Thrift Store Finds Are Repurposed Upcycled

Hello everyone, and Welcome to Thrifty Shop Girl! Glad to see you stopping by. I have some pictures to share with you of some thrift store finds that I had found. I think I might save those for another time. Today I thought that maybe I would share with you what I have done with some of those Thrift Store finds I had shared with you. Not all pieces were used to repurpose cuz come on, a girl has to keep some things for herself too, right? Sure we do! Anyway, below you will see a few pictures of completed items that I repurposed upcycled.

A Green Relish Dish Tray Glass Pedestal Stand Vintage Inspired is completed, and listed with my shop at Etsy. I so loved how these 2 beautiful glass pieces came together to create this relish pedestal stand. So much better in person, and the item looks like new too.

A Stoneware Cupcake Plate Amber Glass Pedestal Stand looks great in person! This adorable amber glass candy dish, or dessert bowl was attached to a lonely Mikasa Soup/Salad bowl to make this beautiful piece. This can also be seen with my shop at Etsy too.

Lastly I am showing you this wonderful Green Glass Cupcake Plate Pedestal Stand that was repurposed by Me. I just love this plate that was used with the color, and design work it has too. The green glass candy dish, or dessert bowl was a great match to attach to this plate creating this piece.

I adore, and have fun making these lonely pieces into something useful with so many possibilities for their use too. Some things I make I do keep for our home as well to dress it a little bit here, and there. I have also made some pieces with glass cylinders making candle holders that were given as gifts. So many choices, so many possibilities, and so many ways to share it all too. As mentioned before, it's fun to do too! I like spending the time searching for items, taking my time in what piece will partner with what piece, and all of that. Sometimes I might be to selective, but I do enjoy the outcome of them when they are completed.

Well, I hope you all enjoyed what was shared with you today. Thanks so much for stopping by, and sharing with Thrifty Shop Girl. I have enjoyed it, and hope you have too. Take care, and see you again soon. Later....

Welcome Thrifting Friends to Thrifty Shop Girl Site

Hello my Thrifting Friends! Welcome back to Thrifty Shop Girl site to visit with me again. If you are new, glad to have you too!

Sorry, been out of the loop again a lil bit. Computer issues, computer problems, and did I mention I had an issue with the computer? Yeah! Darn things. Love them till something technical happens, and then they show their true colors becoming a pain in the bootie.

After it was all said, and done it looks like I had a corrupted file. I hope that is all it was. But, it sure took over the computer. I lost administrative privileges to some things, cannot find files with my pictures knowing they are there in the hard drive, was not saving anything I was doing, having issues with things being done technically and not saving, and so on, and so on.

Well, I finally got through some of it to make the computer operative for me again. Just the issue of some of the files have to be redone...some cannot be redone:( And, just dealing with things one bit at a time. I went from having 73% free space back up to 90% free space....almost like a new computer again. Yet, not completely new with some things still being a problem. But, they are minor, I do not do them all the time, and as long as the computer runs to let me do things we can get along again:)

So nice out this weekend I wanted to glue some things together, and finish some projects too. I even thought about going out of town to one of the Thrift Stores near by to go rummaging a bit. But, I didn't get it done. Kept saying walk away from computer, and deal with it later, and later came earlier that I always worked on it. Oh, well, it is back to a safe place to handle again so I guess it was all good:)

Hope this finds everyone doing well, and so far having a great week too! Thanks again for visiting with Thrifty Shop Girl everyone! Take care, and come back again soon. Have a wonderful day!:)
