Thrifty Monday for Thrifts Junk Vintage Repurpose, and a lil bit of this, and a lil bit of that is what makes it fun.
Hi, and Welcome to Thrifty Shop Girl! Glad to have you back, and visiting with us. I am a little bit disappointed. By now I thought I was going to be moved to some where warmer, that I can do more thrifting, junking, digging, and treasure hunting too. But...our plans didn't quite work out as we hoped, and so I am still living up North with the cold yet. Working harder to get things in order, better organized, things completed so that we can move down south. Till then I have to do what I can, right?
A while back it was kind of nice out, and I thought what the heck. I have not been to many this year with house remodeling, down sizing things, preparing to move, and etc. So, I did have 1 day where I stopped at a couple of garage sales. Unfortunately, for this small town I live by they never seem to have much at Garage sales that I can get really excited about. Prices are too high because they see it sell on ebay, or something like that so that is where they get their numbers. I cannot find use for some things being offered, many baby items that would not fit into a desirable market for them, and so on. Not trying to be mean, but sometimes I can find better deals with some of the dumpsters, and stores that are out of town than from here too.
On this one particular day I did stop at a couple of garage sales, and found some small things that I can work with a bit. I enjoy the apothecary jar I found, and all of the pearls that I found and dropped into it as well. So far it is a keeper for me. I got the 2 picture frames with an idea that I have in mind. Not sure if it will be these 2 together, but it is a start anyway.
I enjoy working with cloche glass dome cheeseboards too. I clean the glass up well, and then will paint the wood base whatever color I choose at the time. Now, once it is painted I might lay a doilie on it, get out the mod podge to add some paper or material, add some figurines or accessories to the inside of it, add some sort of decal to the glass dome, and things like that. The 2 plates you see will have something done to them soon if I can ever find some glassware, or pieces that can fit to their size, and of course have the right colors to accent everything too. But, they do look like new too. I had gotten excited because I found some great amber glass that would be perfect with the 2 plates, colors were good, like new condition, and.....they were too big. How disappointed I was too.
In the back you see the pretty pillar candle holder with a minimal floral design on it. It has a pink glass base that is nice, and sturdy too. Simple candle holder that is adorable with the candle in it, or without it too. I also got a glass candle holder that will make a cute pedestal stand to something, a sweet tea cup, and some blue napkin rings/holders that I can work with too.
Sometimes you might not come home with much after thrifting, or garage saling, but there are still possibilities for everything to be used in some way or other too.
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, enjoyed the football games, and got all done that you wanted to do. Thanks for sharing your time with Thrifty Shop Girl, and hope to see you again soon. Take care till the next time everyone.....Toodles........
